Innovating together to improve breast reconstruction outcomes

The partnership between LifeHealthcare and Australian Biotechnologies exemplifies how EBOS MedTech is driving innovation in breast reconstruction and strengthening the region’s biologics expertise.
Purposeful Innovation: Advancing Regenerative Solutions in Surgery
Innovation in surgery is never just about technology. It is about restoring confidence, dignity, and quality of life for patients. At EBOS MedTech, we believe meaningful innovation happens when science and empathy intersect, when we listen to clinicians, understand patient journeys, and respond to real-world challenges with solutions that make a tangible difference.
Allovance ADM (Acellular Dermal Matrix) represents an important milestone in regenerative medicine. Manufactured by Australian Biotechnologies, an EBOS MedTech company, they spent 4 years in research and development to create a world-leading allograft solution utilising dermal matrix for surgeons and patients across Australia and New Zealand. It supports soft tissue regeneration in a range of procedures, including breast reconstruction, shoulder reconstruction, tendon repair, and oral and maxillofacial (OMF) surgery.
Breast reconstruction is about helping patients reclaim a sense of self after loss or change. Recognising this, Australian Biotechnologies partnered with LifeHealthcare’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery division to make Allovance ADM available to Australian and New Zealand patients. This partnership combines scientific excellence, local manufacturing, and surgical expertise to deliver innovation that enhances both clinical outcomes and patient wellbeing.
Collaborative Innovation: Where Science Meets Surgery
At the heart of EBOS MedTech’s success is a culture of collaboration. Across our network of companies, we connect local manufacturing capability with deep clinical insight to ensure every product we deliver is relevant, responsive, and robust.
Developing and manufacturing ADM in Australia enables agility, allowing us to respond quickly to clinician feedback, maintain the highest standards of safety and traceability, and ensure the product evolves with clinical needs. This proximity fosters strong relationships between developers and surgeons built on trust, transparency, and shared purpose.
Our companies work together, sharing knowledge and supporting one another to deliver life-changing solutions for patients across the region.
Honouring Tissue Donation: The Foundation of Innovation
Every advancement in tissue-based medicine begins with an extraordinary act of generosity. Australian Biotechnologies honours the tissue donors and their families whose selfless contributions make innovations like Allovance ADM possible. Their gift underpins every product we create and guides our commitment to the highest ethical, scientific, and clinical standards.
Broader Impact: Strengthening Australia and New Zealand’s MedTech Capability
The launch of Allovance ADM marks a significant step forward for EBOS MedTech, LifeHealthcare, and Australian Biotechnologies, demonstrating what is possible when local expertise, clinical collaboration, and purpose-driven innovation come together.
By developing and manufacturing ADM locally, we showcase the region’s capability to lead in complex biologics and regenerative medicine. This milestone strengthens supply chain resilience, supports sustainable growth, and ensures world-class surgical solutions remain accessible to clinicians and patients across Australia and New Zealand.
As we look ahead, the success of Allovance ADM reinforces the value of investing in local research, manufacturing, and clinical partnerships – building a future where innovation is accessible, ethical, and transformative
