Behind Better Outcomes: Kyron's story

For Kyron Marsh, Senior Clinical Support Specialist at LifeHealthcare, an EBOS MedTech company, every day brings new challenges, new learnings and opportunities to make a real difference as part of the New Zealand team  

A different kind of team 

Ask anyone in our New Zealand team what stands out, and you’ll hear the same thing: the people. “Everyone’s a good person and everyone’s willing to help,” says Kyron. “A lot of us don’t fit what many might consider the ‘classic’ rep or salesperson. We focus on giving a really good customer experience and making sure our surgeons are looked after. That’s unique about this team.” 

While the industry is often defined by bold, driven personalities, our New Zealand team leads with empathy, reliability, and genuine partnership. 

Bringing culture to work 

For many of our New Zealand colleagues, the workplace is also a place where culture is respected and celebrated. “I can proudly be Māori in this organisation.” 

From welcoming new facilities with pōwhiri and waiata to meaningful gestures such as gifting pounamu, cultural inclusion isn’t a box-tick. It’s part of how we connect. These practices have also inspired colleagues across the wider EBOS MedTech portfolio of companies to explore new ways of celebrating and including indigenous culture.  

Supporting life’s big moments 

That sense of connection also shows up in how the company supports its people through major life events. When Kyron became a father, he says, “my manager made it clear early on that the company recognised this was an important life event and encouraged me to take time off. As the due date got closer, my caseload got busy but the wider team stepped in to cover so I could spend those first couple of weeks with my daughter without worrying about work. 

“I’m massively grateful to my manager and the team for that support, and for the generous paternity leave benefit. It makes me proud to be part of an organisation that genuinely walks the talk.” 

Living our values beyond New Zealand 

For Kyron, one of the clearest examples of the companies' values in action has been the support of the Cambodia Outreach Program. This initiative sends a team of New Zealand orthopaedic spine surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and a company representative to provide life-changing surgery for patients with severe spinal deformities. 

Kyron explains. “Patients who arrive at the clinic often have almost no access to the care they need. They’re treated by New Zealand-trained surgeons using world-class implants. For many, it’s the difference between a lifetime of pain and disability and a chance at a normal life.” 

Kyron has travelled twice with the team. “On my second visit, one of the young patients we’d operated on the previous year came back for review. She’d been one of the most complex cases. Seeing her jumping around, healthy and smiling – that was powerful. It really drove home the positive impact our work can have.” 

He says the experience gave him a deep sense of gratitude, not only for New Zealand’s healthcare system, but for working at a company that genuinely backs initiatives like this.

“I know it’s not cheap to support an outreach programme like this, but the company does it willingly. That aligns with my own values about giving back. It makes me feel settled here – like I’m in an organisation that doesn’t just say it cares, it shows it.” 

Kyron also says the experience reframed how he sees his day-to-day role at home. “We’re so blessed in New Zealand. We have clean, well-functioning hospitals, imaging and navigation in theatres – things you just don’t have over there. It’s eye-opening. Coming back, you carry that gratitude into your work. You want to make sure you’re doing everything you can to support our surgeons and patients here, because you’ve seen how different it could be.”
